Statement Cardigan

Sweater: Free People
Tee: American Apparel
Necklace: Patina
Jeans: Anthropologie
Shoes: Mighty Swell Vintage
Sunglasses: Anthropologie

Whew! It's been a while! Hope you all are enjoying what was the end of summer and what is now officially fall! It got pretty cool this week and I was able to wear my new sweater that I have been patiently storing in my closet waiting for just such a day.

I'm calling it a statement know, it just kind of makes it's own outfit and the rest can be boring? It's the new statement necklace. Look it up...I'm sure that's right.

Glad to chat with you again my bloggy friends- what's new in your neck of the woods?!

Sweater: UO
Scarf: Borrowed from mom
Jeans: UO
Sandals: MIA via DSW

I firmly believe that it's time to break out the sweaters and layers. I feel it deep in my soul and it's totally time. However, be prepared to feel comfortable and times and be sweating your chachis off other times.

It's the price you pay and the sacrifice you make when you wear layers in August. But I kind of feel like it's summoning fall...everyone get sweaters on now and maybe it will happen!

Fall Feeling

Scarf: Gift
Shirt: Brett's, Levi's
Pants: UO
Shoes: Marshall's
Bag: Thrifted via Goodwill

What a good day today! There's that feeling in the air that fall is coming (even if that's a farse) and I can't wait! I love that slight chill- it makes me want to scream!

In other news, I took my day off today to do some inner maintenance (dentist, eye doctor, eyebrow wax, etc.). But I also made sure that I treated myself to some fun things as a reward (shopping, Vietnamese coffee, etc).

Hope you are all having a great week- I'm going to post some of our Colorado photos tomorrow!

Simple Style

Necklace: Anthropologie
Dress: Mighty Swell Vintage
Clutch: Gift
Shoes: Restricted via DSW

I have no idea how to wear basics- if you've read this blog, you may have realized this. Simple and understated are so not my thing. So while an LBD is everyone's "go to", it is a huge challenge for me... how do I make it interesting and "me"? How do I make sure I don't look like I'm headed to a funeral?

In fact, I was headed to a wedding. So mere minutes before leaving for the wedding, I bought this necklace and paired it with this clutch to bring some color into it.

You know what's not a challenge for me? Eating the incredible Indian food buffet at the reception. Not at all.

The Things We Didn't Buy Guest Post

Hi again friends,

I did a guest post for Marianne over at The Things We Didn't Buy while she is traveling Europe.

It's all about my favorite things to do and see in the Twin Cities. Check it out!

Views from Cape Cod

Hi friends!

Just a few snaps I took while we were in Massachusetts for Brett's sister's wedding. It was a blast!

Overall, a quick and great trip. A few of the best things:

  • Bumped up to first class on our way there!
  • Seeing our friends Casey and John in Boston.
  • Lobster rolls. Enough said.
  • Dunkin' Donuts!!!! Everywhere!!
  • Seeing Brooke and Marc tie the knot and hearing their beautiful vows.
  • 75 degree weather. I mean....
Hope you all had a great week- we head to Colorado in a few days to spend time with my family!

Park Place

Scarf: Vintage
Dress: ASOS
Shoes: Thrifted Dexter via Goodwill

Nothing like a little jaunt in the park after work and before a cocktail. You know, just taking pictures of myself in the local park- normal stuff.

I've worn the crud out of the dress but it's kind of my "go-to". No matter how sh***y I feel, it makes me feel less so!

Anywho, Brett's out of town (boo!) and so I won't have any pics for a few days, but then we head to Cape Cod to see Brett's sister get married so hopefully I'll get a few pics there!
